Power Hour

Granted, it’s just an hour — but gaining an extra 60 minutes in this day and age is much better than losing those clock ticks.

While it’s still up for debate whether Daylight Saving time is relevant (especially since some states like Hawaii and Arizona don’t even observe), it’s a waste of all our time to discuss the pros and cons.

Instead, let’s discuss the best possible ways to utilize father time’s additional digits.  Below is a little top 10 list I’ve put together that will help you make the most of this day.  But, even as I crunch the numbers, there are just some plain time wasters in the mix that serve purely as piece of mind.

1. Turn Clocks Back: It may take you an hour just to get to them all.

2. Listen to Frankie Moreno’s Album: While you’ll enjoy great tracks like “I’m Sorry,” see if you can find the song with the lyrics “Tick tock of the bedroom clock pounding in my head.”

3. Make Use Of Guides: Can’t figure out that darn iphone?  Are you a twidiot when it comes to Twitter?  This handy Website is a wonderful source of technical how-to’s.  www.makeuseof.com

4. Social Media Makeover: Spend an hour looking at all of your social media channels.  Is your profile photo the same on all? If not, Google why this is an important step in the process.

5. Fall Cleaning: Don’t get too crazy — you’ve only got an hour.  But maybe that junk drawer you’re constantly complaining about might bring about a serendipitous experience.

6. Blog: We’ve all got something to say and you never know what words of wisdom might be useful to another.  Done!

7. Change Batteries: Especially in your smoke detectors.  While you’re at it — see what else needs a little juice boost.

8. Meditate: Don’t worry, you’ll still have 57 minutes more to play with when you realize that your concentration level is about tapped after 180 seconds of this.  Still, a little of this goes a long way.

9. Watch a Mob Movie: Although I’m still perplexed as to why, maybe a little fixation with a fedora will help you figure out the reason the pop-culture fascination with the Mob has come back with a vengeance this year.

10. Do Nothing: If you’re like me, this is impossible.  But sometimes you just need a good hour to do nothing and not feel guilty for doing so.
